SANWO-OLU VISITS ABULE-EGBA PIPELINE IFERNO VICTIMS AT THE IGANDO IDP CAMP.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today visited the Igando relief camp for on the spot assessment of the environment and to commiserate with families affected by the pipeline explosion which occurred at Abule Egba last Sunday.
Addressing those accommodated at the camp which is being managed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Governor Sanwo-Olu said his visit was to ascertain that their welfare was been seen to and stated that he was happy to see them in a conducive environment.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said his administration decided to open the relief camp for those who lost property and other valuable items to the inferno so that their nutrition and medical needs would be met and they would not live in deplorable conditions .
He assured the displaced people that by Monday arrangements would be made for buses to convey their children to schools and promised to meet with the NNPC to discuss ways to support and assist them to get back on their feet.
The Governor said the issue of the pipeline vandalism which normally resulted in fiery explosions had been a great concern to NNPC and the State government, adding that it was the responsibility of all to safeguard and protect the environment.
The Governor was accompanied to the Igando relief camp by the State’s Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, State executive council members LASEMA’s Director-General, Femi Oke-osanyintolu and other officials.
