REMAINS OF COLLAPSED BUILDING, PULLED DOWN BY LASEMA…..

The two storey building at no 24, Audio street in New garage area of Gbagada which collapsed partially in the morning has been pulled down to ground zero this afternoon.
Bulldozer of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency demolished the structure this afternoon to avoid a secondary incident.
Director General of LASEMA Dr. Demi Oke Osanyintolu who led the agency’s team said that a trapped occupant of the house was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.
He said that no other structure or person was affected during the demolition.
Some of the occupants told correspondent Niran Odufayo that the landlord had since last year served them quit notice to enable him renovate the distressed building but they turned deaf ears to the warning.
About ten families in the demolished building have now been rendered homeless as some of them were seen lurking around the street corners with their belongings and children while those who were not around during the evacuation had their belongings buried in the rubble.
