As the nation marks its fifty-ninth Independence Day Anniversary, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has urged Nigerians to remain united and re-dedicate themselves to the service of the country as a way of returning the glorious past of the nation.
Governor Sanwo-Olu made the call at the Independence Day parade held at Police College Grounds, Ikeja.
The Governor who was dressed in the Neighbourhood watch uniform assured all Lagos residents that the state government would continue to proffer solutions to address challenges in all sectors of the economy, while stressing the need for them to perform their civic responsibilities by supporting the present administration in safeguarding lives and properties of residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who was accompanied by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat stressed the need for Nigerians to remain resolute in keeping the dreams of the founding fathers, said Lagos will always be at the forefront in ensuring that his administration attract investors to the state.
He charged residents to eschew immoral act and vices that would portray the country in a negative light, rather be proactive that government at all levels are working on steps to restructure the present system.
