LAGOS BEGINS SALES OF LAKE RICE FOR SALLAH CELEBRATION…

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Olayiwole Onasanya who made this known in a news release said that Lake Rice is available for sale in all the usual centres across the State.
Some of the sale points include ; the Agricultural Development Authority Complex, Oko-Oba; Lagos State Agriculture Inputs Supply Authority (LAISA), Ojo and the Blue Roof at LTV Complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
Others are; Temu Farm Service Centre, Epe; Odogunyan Farm Service Centre, Ikorodu; Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere; Ministry of Agriculture Area Office, Ajah and the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park at Yaba.
The Permanent Secretary reminded residents that the price of a 50Kg bag of Lake Rice is now 14,000 naira, 25kg bag is 7,000 while 10kg bag will go for 3, 000 naira.
Dr Onasanya reiterated the State Government’s commitment towards boosting food security and wished all Lagos residents a very happy Eid celebration.
Lake Rice, the result of a joint venture between the Lagos and Kebbi State governments is a particular locally grown rice introduced into the Lagos market in December 2016.
Grown in Kebbi and packaged in Lagos, the name of the rice, LAKE was formed from the initial two letters of the names of the partnering States.
