The wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu  is partnering the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, in establishing a Paedritrics  endowment fund to compliment the free health care services for children in the State.

Mrs Sanwo-Olu made this known when she led members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, to donate gift items to patients at the neo-natal and post natal wards  within the hospital as part of activities heralding the  19th annual  National Women’s Conference of the  Association coming up on  the 22nd to 24th of this month.

Explaining that the State Government already provides  free healthcare  for children between ages zero to 12 in its hospitals, Dr Sanwo-Olu said the Paedritrics endowment fund would help bridge the gap and reduce the  financial burden of caring for babies with health challenges.

While thanking Mrs Sanwo-Olu and COWLSO members for the kind gesture, LASUTH Chief Medical Director , Professor  Adetokunbo Fabamwo,  announced that the newly completed Ayinke House, a-one hundred and seventy bed facility for the delivery of babies is now ready for use and urged pregnant mothers to make use of it.

Our correspondent reports that the wife of the Governor and other COWLSO members later embarked on an awareness walk from LASUTH,  to Lagos House, Alausa Ikeja to further sensitize Lagos residents about the conference which will be streamed live on all the social media handles of the State government and selected media outfits within the State.
