COWLSO 2019; Focus to be on Child rearing, entrepreneurship, health and finance.

How women can key into emerging opportunities in the 21st century will be the focus of the 19th edition of the annual national women’s conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO.
The wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who made this known in Alausa Ikeja while briefing newsmen on the activities lined up for the conference coming up on the 22nd to 23rd of this month said the wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari would declare the conference open.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu who is the Chairman of COWLSO revealed that topics which would be discussed at the three days event would cut across Child rearing, entrepreneurship, health and finance.
Explaining that since its inception, the COWLSO national conference had been aimed at empowering women, Dr. Sanwo-Olu said the theme of this year’s conference, “Unlearn, Learn and Relearn: 21st century Women’s Perspective/Approach” was chosen to equip participants with relevant knowledge and skills for the present time.
In a remark, the Chairman of the conference organising Committee, Professor Ibiyemi Bello said participants are expected to be women between the ages of 25-75 years.
Correspondent Omolara Omosanya reports that that about three thousand women from Lagos, Kwara, Nasarawa States and the FCT are billed to attend the conference
Meanwhile, the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has restated the commitment of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, to continue the advocacy on a cleaner environment.
Addressing newsmen after cleaning Ikeja areas of the State as part of activities to herald the 19th edition of COWLSO’s National Women’s conference , Dr Sanwoolu reiterated that it was important to keep the environment clean in the best interest of all.
She maintained that COWLSO supports the current campaign on proper waste disposal by the Lagos State government and canvassed basic hygiene and proper waste disposal education from the kindergarten to University level
According to the wife of the Governor, proper waste disposal will make recycling of waste materials easy, create job opportunities and boost the economy.
